Please attend this meeting to show your support for the proposed resolution.
The city recognizes that San Onofre in within the 50 mile danger zone and proposes to includes in its 2011-2012 Federal Legislative Program SUPPORT for action by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to make no decision about restarting either San Onofre Unit until Edison has completed a thorough, public, transparent license amendment with an adjudicatory hearing on whether it is safe to restart either reactor and a determination of what repairs, replacements, or other actions by Edison are necessary to guarantee both short- and long-term public safety.
See full proposed resolution.
Edison has stacked the deck with the Nuclear Reglatory Commission and it’s my belief San Onofre will start up again no matter what. Why? I attended two of the past meetings and they bused in their own personnel to fill up the audience and keep the average citizen from speaking. I wish safety had more of a voice in the matter. Good luck Los Angeles, maybe your councilmen and women will have more luck keeping it shut down until and if all the Mitsubishi generator parts are more safely designed and manufactured. I’ll be watching…
Thanks for your time and effort on this project. Dede

Hello Everyone concerned about their safety and that of their families within a fifty mile radius of San Onofre Nuk plant. We had a earthquake off our coast last week. That’s a wakeup call. Are we listening ? Please listen. Hear the steady whispering in our ears : This plant is not safe to re-activate. We need accurate, unbiased factual data that is irrefutable as to the safety of this plant to operate. Greed or hubris should not be a factor. LISTEN.
